4 Things No One Tells You About Planning A Wedding
Updated: Feb 8, 2019
So you're planning a wedding! Congrats! To make this process easier for you, I've listed 4 things that you need to know for planning your wedding!
1. People will get mad you
There are always going to be people that aren’t happy about your wedding. Maybe they didn't like their hotel or hated the food choices. They could be upset that it took too long to take your pictures or that they have to pay for alcohol at the bar. Whatever it is that will make your guests mad, ignore them. This day has nothing to do with them and everything to do with you and your new marriage. Plan your wedding for you and only you.
2. There are legal things you need to figure out
On top of applying for and getting your marriage license in time, you also need to be aware of some of the legal things you will encounter when you get married. One of those things is that the bride will need to change her last name and then change it on all her legal documents like her drivers license and passport. Do your research as your planning your wedding.
3. You can plan a wedding in less time than you think
Some people stay engaged for years. This may be for many reasons, but for some, it could be because they think they need that time to plan their wedding. What I learned from planning my wedding is that it takes as long as you make it take. I was engaged for under six months and planned my wedding with my mom in that timeframe. It all depends on how much time you have each day to plan and how many people you have helping you out. You can plan your special day in less time than you may think!
4. You don’t have to spend a ton of money on your wedding
When we hear the words “wedding planning”, what a lot of us hear is “spending money”. And while you do have to spend money on your wedding, it doesn't have to cost you as much as you may assume. There are so many little things that you can do that will end up saving you thousands of dollars. Click here to read my blog about how to save money on your wedding day.
